On Friday, July 9th Jennifer Hill and Heather Heist had the honor of meeting with state senator, Diana Harshbarger in Morristown. Ms. Harshbarger has opened a remote office along with local representatives and invited the community for the grand opening.
Jennifer and Heather were able to briefly speak with Senator Harshbarger about her assistance with acquiring property in Cocke County to help move the homeless shelter process forward. Since founding The Hope House Cocke County in May 2019, Heather and Jennifer, along with an incredible board have been working diligently to increase public awareness pertaining to the homeless and underprivileged population within the county. The Hope House of Cocke County has been awarded several local and state grants to provide services and food for the less fortunate community. To be able to move forward in the building of the homeless shelter, we are desperately looking for property to be able to place a permanent structure. If anyone knows of any property that is available or would be willing to donate, we only need a few acres to get started, we would love to hear back from you with any insight or feedback. We would also welcome any other community members that would like to join The Hope House of Cocke County in this endeavor.
