On Thursday, November 18th, The Hope House of Cocke County sponsored the Cocke County Chamber mixer breakfast. We served around 30 community members and had the privilege of leading a discussion on the homeless crisis in our county.
We were overwhelmed with the warmth and responses we received after speaking to the group. There was so much positivity and encouragement— and even some tears. A lot of people do not realize the enormity of the problem that we are trying to solve, and we are honored to be able to reach out to our community to talk about this issue.
We are honored and welcome ANY opportunity to be able to speak and educate community members on what the Hope House is striving for. We opened the floor for discussion and were thrilled with all the questions and support. We were able to get five more weeks of pantry box sponsors! This brings us up to 17 weeks of food, which will carry us through winter.
We also announced that we are accepting applications for new board members. Our organization is growing and we would love to hear from you. As a result of the Chamber breakfast, we were able to secure TWO volunteer locations for the Sonoco building that was donated to us. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful and caring community.
The members of The Hope House of Cocke County that were in attendance were Jennifer Hill, Heather Heist, Tammy Abbett and John Heist. Please feel free to reach out to us any time; we would love to hear from you!
And as always, we hope you will consider donating to the Hope House of Cocke County by check or PayPal Friends and Family.
